Engaged citizens and parents have called on policymakers to provide stable and adequate funding for pre-kindergarten, K-12, and higher education. While solutions for stability are well known, determining what level of resources qualifies as adequate is a matter of fierce debate. ECONorthwest has worked closely with public and private nonprofit partners to identify where best educational practices exist and to quantify the achievement gains a state or locality might expect in return for an educational investment. In addition, ECONorthwest has devised transparent, performance-based budget presentations that clarify PreK-20 education spending trends in an era of increasingly scarce resources.
