ECONorthwest has conducted numerous land use projects for public and private clients: both benefit from ECONorthwest's combined knowledge of public policy and market analysis. ECONorthwest's recent projects have focused on growth management, methods for creating usable inventories of buildable land, corridor and center development, and the relationship between urban form and transportation.

ECONorthwest's specialty is the application of the principles of urban economics, public finance, and real-estate market analysis to issues of public policy. That specialization has led ECONorthwest to national-level research and publications on urban sprawl for the National Academy of Sciences, on the connection between land use and transportation for the American Planning Association, and on the impacts of regulations on housing affordability for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
