Nick Popenuk

Nick Popenuk is a policy analyst at ECONorthwest. Popenuk's background is in regional planning, and public-sector finance. He has overseen a wide range of projects related to land use and development, including real estate negotiations, development feasibility studies, economic cluster analysis, and financial pro forma analysis. His recent work focuses on tax increment financing (TIF). Popenuk has calculated TIF revenue estimates for potential urban renewal areas for the cities of Portland, Lake Oswego, and Hillsboro; as well as Washington and Columbia Counties.
Prior to joining ECONorthwest, Popenuk worked for the Metropolitan Exposition Recreation Commission (MERC) as a policy advisor to the Executive Director. At MERC, Popenuk worked on all aspects of the Oregon Convention Center Headquarters Hotel Project, including project management, finance, public involvement, and strategic political advice.
