Sarah Reich joined ECONorthwest as a policy analyst in 2006. Reich specializes in the study of environmental and natural-resource policy, planning, and economics. Her past work has focused on water policy issues and watershed management. Her recent work has involved assessing the economic benefits of ecosystem services associated with natural-resource restoration, low-impact development, and sustainable site design. She has also helped analyze the potential economic costs of climate change in the western United States, the economic and social implications of water use in northern California, and the economic consequences of public investments in irrigation in Montana. Prior to joining ECO, Reich conducted survey research, modeling, and data analysis to determine the cost to households of public water infrastructure improvements in the New England region, and studied numerous dimensions of state and federal water policy in the western United States.
