ECONorthwest uses spatial-competitive models to evaluate existing or potential business branch locations. These models are customized by type of industry, and have been applied to banking, health clinic, motor fuel dispensing, and other types of businesses. We consider many accessibility, regional, and economic/demographic factors in predicting branch potential.

Accessibility factors include the proximity of customers to their current branch and other branches of the same business, and the proximity of branches and customers to competitor branches. Regional considerations include regional economic growth and future risk of competitive entry. Economic and demographic factors include numerous measures of household characteristics and employment status. We can produce multiple measures of branch potential, including custom models of consumer- or business-oriented products. Our analyses also interface with GIS presentation and mapping software.
