Melissa Rowe joined ECONorthwest in 2010, specializing in education and social policy. Her areas of expertise include program evaluation, policy research, and technical writing. Melissa's project work focuses on education outcomes, state and regional economic conditions, poverty reduction strategies, and human service programs. Prior to joining ECONorthwest, Melissa was the Managing Editor of Economic Development Quarterly, a peer-reviewed journal focused on the intersection of theory and practice in U.S. economic revitalization. She also coauthored a demographic analysis of poverty and self-sufficiency in Oregon that illustrates the use of an alternative measure of income adequacy. Melissa was awarded the Howard I. Bruce Award for Excellence from the Levin College of Urban Affairs.
